1 1/2 ounces gin, such as G'vine Gin
1 ounce honey syrup (see Recipe Notes)
1 ounce freshly squeezed ruby red grapefruit juice
1 large egg white
1 small wedge of grapefruit, to garnish
In a shaker filled with ice, combine all of the ingredients and shake vigorously for at least a minute, or until your cocktail is nice and frothy.
Strain into a tall glass filled with ice and garnish with the wedge of grapefruit.
Recipe Notes
- Honey syrup is simply honey that has been warmed so that it is looser and can be mixed easier. You can also add a bit of warm water to your honey to make a honey syrup.
- I prefer using a nice floral gin for this cocktail. As I mentioned I used G'vine gin because its sweet and spicy aromas are perfect with the fresh squeezed grapefruit juice and its smooth mouthfeel makes this a great cocktail. You can substitute any gin, but if you have your choice go for an artisanal style that is more floral than just heavy juniper for this drink.
