1 4 1/2 lb (2 kg) pork shoulder roast with the bone in
2 tablespoons (30 ml) olive oil
Salt and pepper
1/2 cup (125 ml) homemade barbecue sauce (see our recipe)
1/2 cup (125 ml) store-bought barbecue sauce
Set a section of the grill to medium.
Brush the roast with the oil. Season with salt and pepper.
Place the roast fat side up on the unheated section.
Cook for about 3 hours 30 minutes or until the meat is fork tender. Brush the roast with barbecue sauce. Continue cooking for 30 minutes.
Serve with roasted sweet potatoes.
