  • 830 ml (3 1/3 cups) unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp) sugar
  • 7.5 ml (1 ½ tsp) instant dry yeast
  • 7.5 ml (1 ½ tsp) salt
  • 375 ml (1 ½ cups) lukewarm water
  • Preparation
  • In a large bowl using a wooden spoon, or in a stand mixer fitted with the dough hook, combine the flour, sugar, yeast and salt. Add the water and stir until a soft ball forms. Knead for 5 minutes on a lightly floured surface or in the stand mixer until smooth.
  • Shape the dough into a ball and place in a lightly oiled bowl. Cover with a damp cloth and let rest in a warm, humid place for 2 hours or until the dough has doubled in volume.
