  • 1 can (28 oz/796 ml) whole tomatoes
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) olive oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • Preparation
  • Pour the tomatoes into a bowl and crush them with clean hands.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, cook the onion and garlic in the oil, without browning. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Add the tomatoes. Stir and bring to a boil. Let simmer gently for 30┬áminutes. Adjust the seasoning. Beware of splattering. Place a splatter screen on the saucepan, if needed.
