  • 1 can 28 oz (796 ml) whole tomatoes
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) olive oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • Preparation
  • Pour can in a bowl and crush tomatoes with clean hands.
  • In a saucepan, cook onion with garlic in oil over medium heat, without browning. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Add tomatoes. Stir and bring to a boil. Let simmer for about 30 minutes. Adjust seasoning. Watch out for splashes! You can use a splatter screen to place on the saucepan.
