225 g (½ lb) firm or extra firm tofu, cut into 4 slices
45 ml (3 tablespoons) olive oil

Preparation
In a bowl, combine 125 ml (½ cup) of the flour with the water and spices. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside.
Sprinkle the remaining flour (60 ml / ¼ cup) on the tofu slices and shake to remove any excess. Coat the tofu in the spicy batter. Set aside.
In a large non-stick skillet, heat the oil. Brown the tofu slices for 3 to 4 minutes on each side or until crisp. Add oil, if needed. Drain on paper towel.
