  • 2 cups (500 ml) sugar
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) Scotch
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) salt
  • 3/4 cup (180 ml) water
  • Wooden Coffee Sticks
  • Preparation
  • In a heavy saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup, scotch, butter, and salt.
  • Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the mixture begins to lightly brown. Add the water. Attach a candy thermometer in the centre of the pan and simmer over medium heat until the thermometer reads 118 °C (245 °F). Remove from the heat.
  • Pour in a stream over the snow and gather with a wooden stick to eat.
