Ingredients
  • 4 ripe but firm pears, peeled, cored and diced
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) dried white figs, diced
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) honey
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) slivered almonds
  • 1 to 2,1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon (5 ml) crushed black peppercorns
  • Preparation
  • Combine all the ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer until the pears are translucent and the cooking juices is syrupy. Let cool.
  • Serve at room temperature with soft cheeses (triple cream brie, for example).
