Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) flour
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) Italian flavored breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 250g mozzarella, cut into 1 x 1/2 X 3-inch (7.5-cm) strips
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) olive oil
  • Preparation
  • Place the flour in a shallow plate and the breadcrumbs in another.
  • In a bowl, beat the egg.
  • Dredge the cheese sticks in the flour. Dip in the egg, then coat with the breadcrumbs. If desired, put the sticks in the freezer for 30 minutes for easier handling during cooking.
  • In a large skillet, fry the cheese sticks in the oil.
  • Serve hot or warm as a starter.
