Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups (375 ml) small pearl onions, peeled
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) butter
  • 1 cup (250 ml) apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup (250 ml) brown sugar
  • 2 Cortland apples, peeled and diced
  • 2 peaches, peeled and diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, seeded and diced
  • 2 stalks celery, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) grated ginger
  • 1 pinch ground cloves
  • 1 pinch Cayenne pepper
  • 2 cups (500 ml) sea buckthorn berries
  • Salt and pepper
  • Preparation
  • In a saucepan, brown onions in butter. Season with salt and pepper. Add remaining ingredients, except for sea buckthorn berries. Bring to a boil and simmer for 20 minutes. Add berries and cook for 5 minutes or until fruit is cooked and liquid is syrupy. Adjust seasoning.
