Ice cubes

1 oz (30 ml) gin

½ oz (15 ml) Chartreuse

½ oz (15 ml) lemon juice

1 oz (30 ml) hard sparkling cider

Smoky Scotch whisky (optional)

Long lemon zest

In a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice, combine the gin, the Chartreuse and the lemon juice. Shake vigorously.

Strain into a coupe glass.

Top with the hard sparkling cider.

With an atomizer, spray with a smoky Scotch whisky (try a medium-peat 12-year-old single malt) or rinse the glass with a bar spoon full of Scotch first, if desired.

Garnish with a long lemon zest.
