Ingredients
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) olive oil
  • 1 can 28 oz (796 ml) crushed or whole tomatoes
  • 3 tablespoons (45 ml) tomato paste
  • Salt and pepper
  • Preparation
  • In a saucepan, soften the onion and garlic in the oil for about 3 minutes. Add tomatoes and tomato paste. Bring to a boil and simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with salt and pepper.
  • In a blender, purée until smooth.
