½ cup (125 ml) ketchup

¼ cup (60 ml) water

1 tbsp brown sugar

1 tbsp (15 ml) prepared mustard

2 tsp (10 ml) apple cider vinegar

½ tsp chili powder

½ tsp onion powder or garlic powder

In a small pot, bring all of the ingredients to a boil while whisking. Season with pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.

The quick barbecue sauce will keep for 10 days in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
