Ingredients
  • 1 cup (250 ml) white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) sugar
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) canola oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, halved
  • 1 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 10 cups (2.5 litres) thinly sliced green cabbage
  • Salt and pepper
  • Preparation
  • In a small saucepan, bring the vinegar, sugar, oil, and garlic to a boil. Add the onion and simmer for about 2 minutes. Remove the garlic.
  • Pour the hot dressing over the cabbage. Toss to combine. Season with salt and pepper. Cover and refrigerate for about 30 minutes. Adjust the seasoning.
