Ingredients
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) coriander seeds
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) peppercorns
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 clove
  • 3 plum tomatoes, diced
  • 1 pear, peeled, seeded and diced
  • 1 red plum, diced
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) sugar
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) white vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) salt
  • Preparation
  • Place the spices in a tea ball or tie them in cheesecloth.
  • In a saucepan, bring the remaining ingredients to a boil with the spices and stir.
  • Simmer over medium heat, stirring frequently, for about 45 minutes or until the fruit is translucent and the juices are syrupy. Let cool and refrigerate. Store in an airtight container.
