• 2 sticks butter, softened
• 1 cup brown sugar, packed
• 1 egg
• 2 teaspoons vanilla
• 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
• 2 cups flour
• 2 cups chocolate chips
• 3/4 cups toasted pecans or walnuts, finely chopped

Pre-heat the oven to 350°F.

Cream the butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Add the egg, vanilla, salt and flour and mix until combined. Spread on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper with an offset spatula until thin. Bake for 15 minutes, or until golden. Remove the pan from the oven and sprinkle on the chocolate chips. Return to the oven for 1 minute. Remove from the oven and spread the chocolate thinly over the cookie layer.

Sprinkle with the chopped pecans. Let set and cut into squares.
