Tropical Fruit Salad with Vanilla Syrup

Ingredients
  • 1 mango, peeled, pitted and diced
  • 1/2 pineapple, peeled and diced
  • 1 can 14 oz (398 ml) whole pitted lychees, drained and halved
  • 1 cup (250 ml) fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 star fruit, sliced
  • 1 green apple, diced
  • Preparation
  • In a bowl, combine all the fruit.
  • In a saucepan, bring the water and sugar to a boil. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • The syrup will have thickened slightly. Remove from the heat and add the vanilla. Allow to cool before pouring into a small jug or bowl. Serve the fruit salad in pretty bowls and let each person add vanilla syrup, to taste.
