Ingredients
  • 2 cups (460 g) basmati rice
  • 3 cups (750 ml) water
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Preparation
  • Rinse the rice in cold water until the water runs clear. Drain.
  • In a pot, bring the water and rice to a boil. Add the remaining ingredients and stir to dissolve the turmeric. Cover and cook over low heat for 15 to 20 minutes or until the liquid is completely absorbed. Remove from the heat and let rest for 5 minutes, covered.
  • Delicious served with beef stir-fry with green peppers and mushrooms (see recipe).
